Abbey Berg Death & Obituary: It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Abbey Berg, a beloved daughter, sister, friend, and dedicated member of both the Bethel University community and the United States Air Force. Abbey, aged 22, tragically passed away on December 10, 2024. Her loss has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her spirit, kindness, and courage will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
Early Life and Education
Born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, Abbey was known for her infectious smile, compassionate nature, and tireless work ethic. From an early age, she displayed a deep sense of responsibility and a desire to make a positive impact in her community. At St. Paul Central High School, Abbey excelled academically, participated in various sports, and was deeply involved in community service. Her leadership, intelligence, and ability to connect with others on a personal level made her a standout student and athlete.
Abbey’s Time at Bethel University
After high school, Abbey attended Bethel University, where she pursued a degree in political science. She quickly became an integral part of the Bethel community, forming lasting friendships and contributing to volunteer work both on and off campus. Abbey was known for her strong sense of justice, her passion for helping others, and her unwavering support for those around her. Professors and peers admired her thoughtfulness, dedication, and determination.
Service in the United States Air Force
Alongside her studies, Abbey proudly served in the United States Air Force. Enlisting with a deep commitment to serving her country, Abbey found great purpose in her military career. Her service was a reflection of her selflessness and her desire to protect and serve with honor. Abbey’s colleagues and superiors recognized her for her discipline, integrity, and commitment to the mission.
Family and Legacy
Abbey is survived by her parents, Tim and Laura Berg; her younger brother, Nathaniel; and many extended family members, friends, and fellow service members. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Jeanette Harris, and paternal grandparents, John and Mary Berg.
Memorial Service and Donations
A celebration of Abbey’s life will be held at St. Paul Cathedral on December 15, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Abbey’s memory. Abbey’s legacy of service, kindness, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
